One of the world's great motorcycle journeys. The South African Garden Route stretches 300km along the Indian Ocean coast between Mossel Bay and Storms River, combining dramatic scenery, lush forests, pristine beaches and charming towns. From Cape Town, take the coastal route through Hermanus (whale watching capital of the world), over the dramatic Outeniqua Pass into George, through the lakes district of Wilderness and Knysna, and into the Tsitsikamma forest before reaching Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). The Garden Route is magnificent year-round but spring (September/October) and autumn (March/April) offer the best riding conditions.
